As well as traditional loft conversions, we can carry out other types of building work and conversions.
Pod Room / Loft Pod
A pod room or loft pod is a quick and cost-effective way to add extra space to your home.
The pod is built out over the back of the house, above the first floor and measures approximately 3m x 3.5m and can be linked to an existing loft conversion. Alternatively, it can be built as a stand-alone extension.
This type of extension is one of the most affordable ways to add space to your home and it’s also unlikely that you’ll need planning permission.
Roof Terrace Conversions
A roof terrace conversion is whereby an existing pitched roof in converted to a roof terrace.
A roof terrace conversion can provide additional living space or garden space, or both. For example, combining a mansard conversion with a small roof terrace can create an additional living space, coupled with an outdoor space.
You will need planning permission for this type of conversion.
Truss Roof Conversions
It’s a common misconception that homes with a truss roof are not suitable for a loft conversion.
The reason for this is that the truss rafters occupy most of the roof space.
However, by replacing the existing W-shaped trusses with A-shaped trusses or horizontal beams, we can create a larger living area.
Due to the fact that it’s necessary to restructure the roof, this type of conversion can be more expensive.
Conservatory Roof Conversions
Are you tired of your glazed conservatory roof?
A solid, tiled replacement roof could transform your conservatory.
A tiled roof will keep it warmer and better insulated in the colder months. Consequently, you could reduce your heating costs and lower your energy bills.
Subsequently, it can make your conservatory much cooler during the warmer months. Without a glazed or plastic roof, the amount of heat build-up will be significantly diminished.
As a result, you will be able to enjoy the room all year round.
Ground Floor Velux Conversions
As well as Velux loft conversions, we can also help you with ground floor conversions incorporating Velux windows.
This type of conversion is a popular choice for kitchen and dining room extensions as it allows lots of natural light into the room.
